Coordinate Plane First Quadrant is an internet based activity. It is paperless and self-grading. Great for 1:1 classrooms. Can also be used in a center or with an interactive whiteboard. In this activity students will be given an ordered pair and asked to locate objects in the first quadrant of the coordinate plane by tapping the object. They will also be shown an object and be asked to select the correct ordered pair from 4 possible answers.
Prerequisite skills needed to use this activity
Interpreting Ordered Pairs
- x: The horizontal position (distance from the origin along the x-axis).
- y: The vertical position (distance from the origin along the y-axis).
Plotting Points
- Moving horizontally: Using the x-coordinate to determine the distance right from the origin.
- Moving vertically: Using the y-coordinate to determine the distance upward.
