In this activity, students will add and subtract decimal numbers. Students will answer by entering their response. Whole numbers include ones and tens place. Decimals include tenths and hundredths place.
Prerequisite skills needed to use this activity
- Aligning decimal numbers by place value for proper addition or subtraction.
- Using zeros effectively as placeholders when aligning numbers.
- Adding or subtracting whole numbers and decimal parts separately.
- Understanding when to carry over or borrow
- Placing the decimal point in the correct position in the final answer.
